Children's Craft Festival
Held every other year, on even years:  September 23, 2010


 

19th century crafts of daily living demonstrated in historic buildings and on the Main Street boardwalk.

Geared primarily for grades 3-6, but all ages are welcome

Quilting, Printing, Gunsmithing, Apple Butter Cooking, Natural Dyeing, Weaving, Spinning, Chair Caning, Soap Making, Butter Making, Kettle Korn, Pottery, Basket Making, Woodworking, Flintknapping, Candle Dipping, Bobbin Lace, Needlework, Hooking Rugs, Doing the Wash, Music, Games, Nature Exhibits, Artists, and more!

Sponsored by the Friends of Arrow Rock, Inc. and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Arrow Rock State Historic Site

Students should bring sack lunches.  Picnic facilities will be available.  Snacks and shopping opportunities are available in town.

The following should be kept in mind when planning to attend the festival:

1.  Reservations are required in advance of the visit. Call Friends of Arrow Rock at 660-837-3231 to get on our e-mail or snail mail list for 2010 reservation dates and procedures.

2.  The fee per child attending is $4. (A teacher or other adult is free when
accompanying 10 students.) Additional adults are welcomed, but a $4 fee for each is required and should be collected and submitted with your group payment.

3.  One adult per 10 students is required.  Students should be under adult supervision at all times, especially in the shops 

4.  The festival will be limited to 1,500 students.

5.  A Confirmation of Registration Letter will be needed to be admitted to the village on the day of the festival.
