Lewis & Clark Symposium
10:00 - 4:00 Arrow Rock State Historic Site
$25.00 Registration Fee, Limited Seating.

The public unveiling of the newest biography of William Clark by William E. Foley will be the highlight of the Friends of Arrow Rock Lewis & Clark Symposium. Foley, Professor Emeritus of History at Central Missouri State University, will discuss Clark's contribution to the Expedition and the continued role he played in American history. Following the noon meal at the 1834 Huston Tavern, Jim Duncan, educator and former Director of the Missouri State Museum, will use slides and artifacts to illustrate Lewis and Clark's encounter with the Indians.

The Life of William Clark will be available for purchase and signing by the author.

The event is dedicated to Sue Stubbs, President of the Friends of Arrow Rock, who passed away January 2004. Sue organized this event and was thrilled when her good friend, Bill Foley, put Arrow Rock first on his list of speaking engagements. This is the first event supported by the Friends of Arrow Rock Education Endowment Fund established with a $100,000 matching grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Duncan's presentation is supported by the Missouri Humanities Council Program Bureau.
